What Taron Margaryan Could Not Do, the New Mayor Will Do
According to the newspaper "Hraparak," the city hall is preparing to purchase a large number of expensive trash cans and benches. During the previous election campaign for the Yerevan council, Nikol Pashinyan stated, "They are acquiring at questionable prices; we need to see how justified those prices are. For instance, for each of these benches, they are paying 160,000 drams; I do not think that bench is worth that much, it is excessive luxury.”
We tried to clarify with the leader of the "Enlightened Armenia" faction in the council, Davit Khazhakyan, whether the purchase of 500 expensive benches has already been made. "The purchase has been announced, and the winner of the tender has already been determined." Who is it? "The same organization that had won in the past." A 'wahh'. "Yes, moreover, they presented the same price of 160,000 drams, about which Nikol Pashinyan, our candidate for mayor at the time, stated that it was highly questionable. By the way, the technical specifications of the purchase are still the same today.”
What is the reason for this? "I think the tender was announced by the mayor without further investigation. The mayor must either justify that this is a normal price, which means Pashinyan was wrong, or explain how this happened and why the same organization won again today.” For more details, refer to today’s issue of the newspaper.
