Body of 65-Year-Old Man Found in Apartment with Signs of Violence; Suspect is Brother

On June 25, an extraordinary incident occurred in Yerevan. Around 12:00 PM, an emergency medical team from Yerevan’s 1-03 station alerted the Malatia division of the police, reporting that they had been called to an apartment on Sherami 113, where they discovered a man's body, according to shamshyan.com.

Police and investigators found the body of 65-year-old Ashot Hartenyan, a resident of the same building. A forensic expert is currently working at the scene, and preliminary information indicates that there are signs of violence on the body.

According to G. Shamshyan, the police and investigators of Malatia quickly identified and took into custody the deceased man’s 62-year-old brother on suspicion of committing the crime.

The apartment was found to be in a deplorable state, with evident disarray present in every room. Reports indicate that both the victim and the suspect have been convicted multiple times in the past.
