5 Million Dollar Damage to the State: HPP Owners File a Lawsuit
The newspaper "Zhamanak" reports that the owners of three hydropower plants (HPPs) built on the Gegharak River in the Aparan region have filed a lawsuit against the Ministry of Environment, which has decided to halt the operations of these HPPs.
In another motion, they are challenging the legality of the actions taken by the Aragatsotn regional governor and the mayor of Aparan, aimed at obstructing the activities of the hydropower plants.
The total investment for the construction of the three HPPs amounted to 5 million dollars, and the owners intend to demand compensation for the damages incurred.
