‘Hraparak’. Nikol Pashinyan’s Tough Speech Has Made an Impact

‘Hraparak’ newspaper writes: “No matter how much they say that the new leadership of the ruling party has been elected freely and fairly through closed elections, the tough speech of Nikol Pashinyan two days before the elections, at the session of the old administration, has left its mark. According to our information, during the discussion about their defeat in Abovyan, Pashinyan ‘put it on the wall’ for his own team, stating that they truly do not differ from the Republican Party of Armenia, are guided by personal interests, and lack team-oriented thinking. He remarked that this cannot continue, and whoever persists will have no place in their team.

Although no names were mentioned, it was understood by all that the comments were primarily directed at Sasun Mikayelyan, who did not support their candidate due to disagreements with the governor Romanos Petrosyan.

In the ruling party, they believe that a group of youths has worked against the veterans, such as Sasun Mikayelyan, Ararat Mirzoyan, and Alen Simonyan, where serious ‘counter-propaganda’ was carried out, with Vilen Gabrielyan, known as the ‘Swinging Boat’ on Facebook, being responsible for this work, claiming to have Pashinyan’s ‘blessing’ while doing so.

The leitmotif of the propaganda was that these individuals have become overly arrogant and need to be shown their place. The atmosphere during the inaugural meeting of the new administration was remarkable: when discussing the presidential question, everyone unanimously suggested Pashinyan, but he stated that he would decline, after which most members of the administration proposed Suren Papikyan’s candidacy. Only Mkhtiar Hayrapetyan suggested Ararat Mirzoyan, who also declined.”
