35-Year-Old Defendant Accused of Grave Crimes Escapes from Abovyan Court

According to Shamshyan.com, an extraordinary incident occurred on June 13 in the Kotayk region. While being transported from the "Nubarashen" penitentiary to the Abovyan Court of General Jurisdiction in the Kotayk province, 35-year-old defendant Simbat Petrosyan attempted to escape around 4:00 PM.

The report states that police officers from the escort squad of the Kotayk regional department chased after S. Petrosyan and prevented his escape. Materials are being prepared on this incident at the Kotayk police department.

It has been noted that S. Petrosyan is accused under Article 34, Part 2, Clause 7 and Article 235, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.
