Criminal Cases Related to MPs Exist in the Investigative Committee: Zhoghovurd
The newspaper 'Zhoghovurd' reports that there are two criminal cases initiated in Armenia's Investigative Committee concerning two members of the National Assembly. Both cases involve members of the ruling 'My Step' faction.
Haik Grigoryan, the head of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, informed 'Zhoghovurd': 'We have two cases involving the participation of MPs. These are threats against Sofia Hovsepyan and Gayané Abrahamyan, based on which we initiated criminal cases under Article 137 of the Criminal Code and are conducting a pre-trial investigation.'
When asked if there are suspicions about who threatened the legislators and why, Grigoryan only stated that the investigation is ongoing and that there are currently no suspects. He did not elaborate on how or why the legislators were threatened.
