Pensions Will Increase in 2020, Says Deputy Minister
Citizens of Armenia will witness an increase in pension amounts in 2020. The government plans to raise both the minimum pension level and take steps to increase the average pension. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Smbat Sayadyan, during a conversation with journalists at the National Assembly.
“We have submitted the relevant proposal. The continuous increase of pensions is also set as a priority in the government's action program within the framework of the medium-term spending program, and it is planned to periodically raise pensions. In 2020, we will see an increase in pension amounts,” said the deputy minister.
According to the deputy minister, discussions held within the budgetary process will reveal the extent of the increase.
