Decision Made to Dismiss Reckless Driver: Hakob Karapetyan

In response to the behavior of the route 46 driver captured in a video circulated yesterday, a representative from the operating company was summoned today to the Transport Department of the Yerevan Municipality for discussions. This information was shared on the Facebook page of the Yerevan Mayor's spokesperson, Hakob Karapetyan.

In the post, he added:
As a result of the discussions, a decision was made to dismiss the reckless driver from his position. The representatives of the passenger transport company were urged to take measures with route drivers to strictly adhere to proper conduct when interacting with passengers, and to be more vigilant regarding compliance with traffic regulations.

I would also like to point out that, in general, it is practically impossible to address the issues related to the conduct of drivers within the current transport system. A profound solution to this issue will be provided when passengers have access to comfortable and dignified transportation, and when drivers work under normal conditions – simply put, their remuneration should not depend on the number of passengers.

The municipality is currently working intensively to launch a new transport network as soon as possible to implement all these changes.
