Tigran Mukuchyan, the chairman of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), is in Abovyan. He stated that operations began as scheduled at 7:00 AM this morning, after which he decided to visit the polling station electoral commissions to familiarize himself with the situation on the ground.

“When the participation numbers were reported by 2:00 PM, I decided to take a tour, to be present at the polling centers, and to hear the opinions of the commission members. I have visited around 5 polling stations in Abovyan and intend to visit others,” Mukuchyan said.

Addressing the violations, he noted: “Any registration or report of a legal violation is received by the CEC from the commission members, trusted persons, observers, and all media publications. We try to clarify and investigate all circumstances, and actions are taken according to legal stipulations. The latter have the authority to record violations in the logbooks of the commission until the summarization of election results, within which time frame evaluations will be made.”

He also added that no remarks have been presented to him by anyone when he visited various polling stations, assuring that he will meet with the commissioners in the others as well and hear their observations.

“The process is positive; so far, very few reports of violations have been received, which have been verified, and appropriate instructions have been given. Operations are proceeding smoothly until now,” he concluded.
