David Grigoryan Submits Report of a Crime to the Chief Prosecutor

According to Factinfo, on May 22, Judge David Grigoryan of the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction submitted a report to the Chief Prosecutor of Armenia requesting the initiation of a criminal case regarding either bribery or false accusation against him.

The website notes that the alleged bribery was highlighted by lawyer Alik Sirunyan. Specifically, on May 18, prior to the court's decision regarding the pre-trial measures for former President Robert Kocharyan, Sirunyan shared statuses directed at Judge David Grigoryan, suggesting comments like, "Mr. David Grigoryan, don’t do me wrong," and "David Grigoryan – kind thoughts." After the announcement of the court's decision, when it became known that the court had changed the pre-trial measure, the tone of the posts also shifted.

His Facebook page featured posts suggesting suspicion of bribery. At 16:06, he wrote, "Two million dollars – you have lost your sense, Nikol," and, "The one stealing properties isn’t released for 1,000,000," or, "They sell their own truths for 2 million dollars," among others.

According to the site’s information, Judge David Grigoryan decided to take action regarding lawyer Alik Sirunyan's Facebook posts, stating that the posts clearly contained elements of a crime, either bribery or false accusation, and requested an investigation by an impartial body.

Interestingly, following Judge David Grigoryan's report, it became clear today that the lawyer had also submitted a report claiming that the judicial act issued by Judge David Grigoryan in the case of Robert Kocharyan and others was illegal and made in clear violation of the judge's authorities.
