Judge Who Called for Drinking 'Chishik' May Face Disciplinary Action
According to the 'Zhoghovurd' newspaper, disciplinary proceedings may be initiated against Judge Sargis Yeritsyan of the general jurisdiction court of Ajapnyak and Davtashen administrative districts in Yerevan, who is the son of former Minister of Education and former member of the Prosperous Armenia Party, Sergo Yeritsyan.
The issue arose from the judge's Facebook post regarding the well-known protest that closed the entrances to the courts. He wrote: 'My dear friends, after hearing about today’s ambiguous protest from a handful of individuals, many are scared. Immediately drink “CHISHIK”, they say it helps.'
Although the judge deleted the post shortly thereafter, several sites had already made it public. Now, this disrespectful statement has put the judge at risk of facing accountability.
