Criminal Case Initiated Against Poroshenko for 'State Treason'
The State Bureau of Investigations of Ukraine has initiated a criminal case against former President Petro Poroshenko for possible state treason. This was reported by Gazeta.ru. It notes that the investigation concerns events from November 25, 2018, when three Ukrainian naval vessels crossed the Kerch Strait.
A lawsuit has been filed against Poroshenko by Andrey Portnov, former deputy head of the administration of former President Viktor Yanukovych. Previously, the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine had started a pre-trial investigation into the alleged pressures exerted by Petro Poroshenko on the courts.
