ARF Has 'Regretted': 'People' Newspaper

According to information from the newspaper 'People', the 'velvet revolution' has not bypassed the newly formed Supreme Body of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF).

According to our information, members of the Supreme Body have decided not to confront the current authorities any longer, since, in their view, the people continue to support the current government 'with both hands', making it pointless to criticize the political course taken by the authorities through various statements, thereby turning public opinion against the ARF itself.

ARF Supreme Body member Taron Tonoyan stated in an interview with 'People': 'I think that whoever wants to go down that anti-revolutionary path will fail.' He did not rule out that the ARF might issue a statement regarding this in the near future: 'I have already proposed to the Supreme Body to issue a call, the issue is under discussion, and I believe everything will be clearer in the near future,' the newspaper reports.
