Agarian Leaders of Artsakh May Appear in Court: Guarantee Provided for Kocharyan's Freedom

During the ongoing session at the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction regarding the preventive measure for the second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, a member of his defense team, lawyer Hovhannes Khudoyan, read the guarantee letter from former Artsakh President Arkadi Ghukasyan and current President Bako Sahakyan to secure Kocharyan's release from custody.

Both the current and former presidents of Artsakh, Bako Sahakyan and Arkadi Ghukasyan, have personally guaranteed the modification of Robert Kocharyan's preventive measure.

“We guarantee that should the preventive measure of detention against the first President of the Republic of Artsakh and the second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, be terminated, he will exhibit proper behavior, will not obstruct the hearing of the case, will not evade appearing before the prosecuting body, and will not commit any acts that are not permitted by the Criminal Code. We request that the preventive measure of detention be replaced with a non-custodial measure,” the lawyer presented.
