Harvard University 'Flagship' Course Held for the First Time in Armenia

With the aim of discussing possible options for reforms in the healthcare sector, the World Bank, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, has organized the Harvard University "Strengthening Health Systems: Implementing Universal Health Coverage in Transitional Settings" flagship course for the first time in Armenia. The Minister of Health, Arsen Torosyan, is participating in the event, as reported by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia.

“High-ranking officials, health policy makers from the Ministry of Health, and representatives from other state bodies are also present at the course.

Universal Health Coverage (UHC) entails ensuring access to quality health services for the entire population without facing any financial obstacles.

Alongside the implementation of UHC and other objectives of sustainable development programs, numerous changes are taking place in Armenia, including demographic, epidemiological, and health financing shifts that affect the nature of expenditures and impact the healthcare system.

Participants have the opportunity to analyze, discuss, and develop strategies for strengthening health systems and UHC policy over the coming days,” the statement reads.
