Judge Accused of Receiving Bribe Arrested
According to NEWS.am, the Yerevan General Jurisdiction Court, presided over by Judge Nelli Baghdasaryan, has satisfied the request of the investigator from the Special Investigative Service and made a ruling for a two-month detention of Judge Gagik Heboyan from the General Jurisdiction Court of Kotayk Province, who is accused of receiving a particularly large bribe.
It is noteworthy that on March 29, 2019, the Supreme Judicial Council approved the prosecutor general of Armenia, Arthur Davtyan's request to launch criminal proceedings against Judge Gagik Zenik Heboyan and agreed to deprive him of liberty. The Council also decided to suspend Heboyan's powers until the conclusion of the criminal proceedings against him.
