Hunters of the Lynx to Be Fined 100 Million Drams
In Armenia, penalties for poaching will be intensified. During a press conference, the head of the Biodiversity and Environmental Security Policy Division of the Ministry of Environment, Voskayt Grigoryan, announced that the fine for lynx will increase from 3 million drams to 100 million drams, and if the hunting occurs in a specially protected area, the penalty will be quintupled.
"This is still a draft version, currently in circulation; however, the project's main emphasis is that the tightening of fines serves as a deterrent, encouraging people to avoid poaching," said Voskayt Grigoryan.
