Vanetsyan on the Security of Armenia and Artsakh
The level of security for Armenia and Artsakh should never decrease at any time; it must only grow every day. This was stated by the Director of the National Security Service of Armenia, Arthur Vanetsyan, in response to a query from Armenpress regarding his recent visit to Artsakh.
Mr. Vanetsyan has become a subject of broad discussion in the press concerning his statements made in Artsakh, which have also elicited reactions from Azerbaijan. How do you comment on this?
I am a professional soldier, and my job is to ensure security and prevent any encroachment on the security systems of Armenia and Artsakh. This is especially important in the conditions when very high-level statements are being made almost every day from the neighboring country about solving fundamental issues through military means and the use of force and threats. Naturally, our security system must be prepared to respond to these threats. The level of security for Armenia and Artsakh can never decrease at any point in time; it must only grow every day, and our efforts are aimed at this.
During his recent visit to the Republic of Artsakh, the Director of the National Security Service of Armenia, Arthur Vanetsyan, made the following statement: “The program we call the resettlement program will, in my and everyone’s objective assessment, be the main guarantee of our country’s security. Because those words, expressions, and people who always negotiate the issue of returning lands, engaging in dialogues, making concessions, etc., as a result of this program, we will send a clear message to all the Armenian people and the entire world that we have no intention of returning even an inch of land; rather, on the contrary, our compatriots should inhabit our lands and thrive in our country.”
