Horrific Car Accident in Yerevan: One of Two Brothers Loses Legs
A horrific car accident occurred in Yerevan. Today, around 03:55, on Rubinyants Street, under yet-to-be-disclosed circumstances, a 61-year-old driver, Sergey Bayanduryan, of a Lada vehicle with license plate 34 TT 870, belonging to the 'Jrvaz' taxi service, lost control and veered off the roadway, colliding with a parked Volvo vehicle with license plate 34 G 8146, owned by 'Sanitek' LLC.
According to Shamshyan.com, as a result of the accident, two people—38-year-old Armen Mirzoyan and 32-year-old Artak Mirzoyan—were taken to the number 1 university hospital with bodily injuries.
It was reported that Armen Mirzoyan completely lost both legs (amputated) due to the accident, and the medical staff at Heratsi Hospital fought for over four hours to save his life; he is currently in critical condition in the intensive care unit.
The Volvo was driven by Artak Mardoyan while the 'Sanitek' employees were performing garbage collection works. Freelance photographer Gagik Shamshyan reported that the driver adhered to all safety regulations; the truck was parked in a permissible area, and the emergency lights were activated. Investigations are underway regarding the incident.
