The captain of the Armenian national team, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, commented after the match against Southampton, which ended in a 2:0 victory for the Londoners, on the club's official website.

“I think if it wasn’t for Leno’s excellent save, it would have been hard for us to score our first goal. Therefore, I think we should express our gratitude to Leno for that first goal. The second half turned out a bit different. The opponent came back into the game; we had good counter-attack options, but unfortunately, we couldn't score more goals,” Mkhitaryan said.

“I love to provide assists to everyone, not just Lacazette. I think the cooperation among the players was excellent, and we could have been successful 3-4 more times. However, this is football, and we need to continue in the same way. We wanted our fans to see more goals, but we managed to score only two,” he added.

“Now we will focus on the game against Bournemouth. It will be a very difficult match, and we need to prepare. We are still in the fight and are not going to give up.”
