World-Famous Designer Karl Lagerfeld Has Died

The renowned German designer Karl Lagerfeld has passed away at the age of 86. International media outlets report that he died today, February 19, in France.

Notably, he had been the creative director of the Chanel fashion house since 1983, and he founded his own brand, Karl Lagerfeld, in 1974.

Lagerfeld was born in Hamburg to a family of banking professionals and moved to Paris in 1952. He collaborated with leading fashion names such as Chloé and Fendi, among others.

A passion for photography drove him to write several books, open his own gallery in Paris, and establish his own publishing house.
