The Israeli defense company Aeronautics has announced that it has won a multi-million dollar competition and signed a contract with Azerbaijan, just two weeks after the restoration of its export licenses, reported The Times of Israel.
According to the company's statement, the two-year contract, worth $13 million, involves the technical support of the Orbiter 1K "lethal" drones previously sold to the key customer, Azerbaijan.
The source notes that the Orbiter 1K can carry a payload of 1-2 kg of explosives filled with 4,000 tungsten particles. The resulting cloud of shrapnel has a radius of up to 25 meters. The Orbiter 1K can remain airborne for 3 hours and is equipped with cameras that operate in both daylight and nighttime conditions. The camera-equipped device is launched using a catapult.
