Road Signs Installed with $1 Million Program Turn into Tandoor Covers or Shovels: Minister of Transport

The Minister of Transport, Communication and IT Hakob Arshakyan reported during today’s government session that there is a program aimed at installing modern road signs from Yerevan to the Iranian border, and about four thousand signs were to be installed as part of this initiative, which is nearing completion.

“If I were to list what they are being used for now, it would be a bit laughable; everything from tandoor covers to snow shovels,” Arshakyan stated, adding, “It is very important that we are spending public funds to improve these signs and ensure road safety. I believe it is very irresponsible to exhibit such behavior, as it harms the state and their children’s safety.”

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan inquired how much money was being spent on the program, to which the minister responded that approximately $1 million was allocated, followed by the Prime Minister's exhortation.
