Businessman Silva Hambardzumyan and Key Witness in Aram Harutyunyan Case Interrogated
The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" reports that businessman Silva Hambardzumyan and Arax Dilanyan have recently been interrogated together.
As it is known, law enforcement has charged former Minister of Environment and former member of the Republican Party Aram Harutyunyan with bribery.
The matter concerns Silva Hambardzumyan, who has consistently stated, “I gave the bribe in 2008, and from 2009 onwards my mines began to be deprived of their licenses. This was passed on to the Minister of Energy Armen Movsisyan, a close friend of Surik Khachatryan, and they started to revoke them. I transferred 8 million dollars to Dubai to their account number, to the account of Arax Dilanyan. On the same day, Arax Dilanyan transferred money from his account to three well-known partners of Aram Harutyunyan: Viktor Martirosyan, Armen Khachatryan, and Gagik Karapetyan. Additionally, I gave 6 million in cash through Suren Avagyan.”
According to the information we have received, the investigative body summoned businessman Silva Hambardzumyan and Arax Dilanyan for interrogation days ago. During the interrogation, Arax Dilanyan confirmed that he received money from Hambardzumyan via transfer; however, he claimed he was unaware that it was a bribe.
