Arayik Harutyunyan on the Essay Topic of Revolution: It Must Be Excluded
The Minister of Education and Science, Arayik Harutyunyan, stated in a conversation with journalists that he has a negative attitude towards the inclusion of an essay on the topic of the Velvet Revolution in the school olympiad.
“Such phenomena must be unequivocally excluded. I have heard about this, I know about it, and the ministry did not have a function in the organization of that stage. We will do everything possible to eradicate this culture of flattery from schools in the future,” said the minister.
Earlier, we reported that during the citywide olympiad for 8th-grade Armenian language students, children were instructed to write an essay on the theme “When they walk, they walk, they walk.” The incident had raised significant controversy, with some media outlets noting that what occurred was a result of the politicization of schools.
