Armenian Chef Captured by Pirates is a Citizen of Russia, Says Armenian Foreign Ministry
In the Gulf of Guinea, near the shores of Benin, the Armenian chef Andronik Grigoryan, captured by pirates from the ship MSC Mandу, is a citizen of the Russian Federation. This was announced to the media by Anna Naghdalyan, spokesperson for the Armenian Foreign Ministry.
As previously reported, armed pirates boarded the MSC Mandу ship, which sails under the Panamanian flag, on the night of January 2. They robbed the crew and took 6 members hostage.
Currently, Russian diplomats in Benin and Nigeria are working to determine the whereabouts of the hostages.
