One Participant of the Recruitment Bus Incident Found, Another on the Run
On January 8, employees of the Military Police of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia and the Police of the Republic of Armenia discovered individuals who created artificial obstacles for the bus transporting recruits from the Nairi Division of the Kotayk Regional Military Commissariat to the central gathering point of the Ministry of Defense between 10:30 AM and 11:30 AM on the same day.
According to Shamshyan.com, they also created an emergency situation, illegally pressured the driver to stop, and during this time willfully committed serious public order violations, displaying blatant disrespect toward society. They struck various parts of the bus, causing damage.
The youths then continued their actions on Sharur Street in Yerevan in the same manner: they stopped the bus, after which two individuals kicked and opened the bus's passenger doors, entering and using violence against the officer in the bus accompanying the recruits from the Nairi Division of the Kotayk Regional Military Commissariat.
They struck the officer in the face and hurled insults at him, while several others grabbed the driver's clothing, forcibly pulling him out of the driver's cabin.
On the same day, a criminal case was initiated by the Military Police of the Ministry of Defense under the features of Article 258, Part 3, Clause 1 of the RA Criminal Code. By midnight, due to explanatory work by law enforcement agencies, 40-year-old Gor H., a resident of Yeghvard and a suspect in this act, voluntarily surrendered to the Military Police, while his fellow citizen, 23-year-old Meruzhan O., is currently on the run.
