Details on the Crashed SU-25: Fallen Pilots Reported Bad Weather
According to "Hayots Ashkharh" newspaper, a tragic incident occurred on December 4 in the vicinity of Karaberd village, Shirak region. Two pilots, Lieutenant Colonel Armen Babayan and Major Movses Manukyan, lost their lives in the SU-25 fighter jet crash. Following the incident, a criminal case has been initiated.
Yesterday, several details were revealed to "Hayots Ashkharh". In particular, the preliminary investigation body has retrieved the recordings from the dispatch center.
It has become known that on that day, around 10:00, one of the pilots made contact with the dispatch center's personnel and reported that the weather conditions were not good. Later, another pilot again connected with the dispatch center and reiterated that the weather was very bad and they were returning.
A few minutes after this statement, the dispatch center attempted to communicate with the pilots; however, they did not appear in sight and lost contact altogether.
