Nikol Pashinyan 'Got a Shock' During His Speech, Recalled a Joke
During a campaign speech today in Kajaran, Nikol Pashinyan, the acting Prime Minister and leader of the 'My Step' alliance, experienced an unexpected moment when he got a shock while speaking.
While delivering his speech, he suddenly tossed the microphone and remarked, "This keeps shocking me, so don't be surprised if I do such things."
A little later, he felt the shock again as he was reminded of the electric current passing through the microphone. Security personnel rushed to assist him and secured the microphone on a stand.
Pashinyan was advised to hold the microphone with a glove, which led him to recall a well-known film.
“This reminds me of the story from Mimino, where he says that in Europe they play the electric piano, and the grandfather says it’s not possible to play it with an electric piano. The child asks Mimino, 'Is it true that it will shock?' and Mimino responds, 'No, they play it with rubber gloves.' Now I need a rubber glove. By the way, what was I saying, folks? I forgot because I got shocked,” he said.
