Avet Konjoryan, Brother of Haik Konjoryan, Presented Document of No Criminal Record Despite Conviction, Says Kristine Vardanyan
Kristine Vardanyan, a member of the 'Armenia' faction, addressed the parliament regarding the information released about Avet Konjoryan, brother of the head of the CP faction, Haik Konjoryan, alleging that he has received preferential treatment before the law.
According to Vardanyan, Avet Konjoryan had his driver's license revoked for one year starting from July 1, 2025, yet was found behind the wheel again three months later. She stated that a criminal case was initiated for this incident, during which a document indicating that he has no criminal record was presented.
The MP argued that in reality, Avet Konjoryan was convicted of fraud in 2010, and this information was not disclosed to the investigating authority, resulting in what she believes to be a more lenient punishment than stipulated by law.
“If Avet Konjoryan were not Haik Konjoryan's brother, would he have the opportunity to receive a document from the Ministry of Internal Affairs stating that he has no convictions, and consequently receive a more lenient sentence? My definitive answer is no,” Vardanyan stated.
She also criticized Haik Konjoryan’s public statements distancing himself from his brother's actions, noting that she believes if the family members of officials did not benefit from such privileges, this connection would not have become a topic of public discourse.
