There Is No Conflict Between CSTO and Armenia: Viktor Vasiliev
There is no conflict between the CSTO and Armenia, and it is incorrect to say that it allegedly arose from the escalation of tensions between Yerevan and Baku, said Viktor Vasiliev, the permanent representative of Russia to the CSTO in an interview with RIA Novosti.
The diplomat emphasized that over the years, including through various international formats, attempts have been made to find compromise solutions for the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
According to him, the Russian Federation has proposed "appropriate solutions that are well known to both the Armenian and Azerbaijani leaderships." He noted that "the conflict had nothing to do with the mandate of the CSTO, and Yerevan knows this." Armenia has suspended its participation in the CSTO in 2024.
