I Am Aware: Pashinyan on Threats Made Against Anna Hakobyan
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has announced that he is aware of the threats made against his wife, Anna Hakobyan, and emphasized that law enforcement agencies are obliged to respond to any situations that involve criminal elements.
"I believe that law enforcement is obligated to respond to any incidents that contain elements of a crime, and they do respond. ... As for whether I am aware of the specific threats in question, yes, I am aware," Pashinyan stated during a press conference after a government meeting.
According to him, the visibility of posts on social media can also affect the public perception of law enforcement responses, as some posts gain wider dissemination through the media.
It is noteworthy that earlier, Anna Hakobyan reported having received threats following her posts addressing the issue of domestic violence. She expressed hope that state bodies would prevent such incidents.
Anna Hakobyan also made a call on Facebook, urging women not to remain silent about cases of domestic violence and to speak out on the issue.
Previously, the Investigative Committee announced that they are examining the report received concerning Hakobyan's publication, while the Prosecutor General's Office informed that an investigation has been initiated based on the publication.
