Armenia has imposed a six-month ban on the import of tomato paste, including from EAEU member countries. According to the government’s justification for the decision, "This will increase the volume of local tomato paste sales and boost the demand for tomatoes, ensuring the full harvest of tomatoes offered for procurement."Restrictions on tomato exports came into effect on May 22, 2026. During the period from that date until July 22, approximately 800 tons of greenhouse-produced tomatoes were exported, compared to around 7,000 tons during the same period last year, which were entirely exported to EAEU member states.
