An Unknown Object Has Fallen and Exploded in Poland: Tusk Does Not Exclude That It Is a Russian X-101 Missile

According to Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, an object has allegedly violated the country's airspace, presumed to be a Russian X-101 cruise missile. It has fallen and exploded in an uninhabited area of the Lublin Voivodeship. There are no casualties or damages.

“Based on the information currently available to us, it is probably a Russian X-101 cruise missile. However, the investigation is not yet complete,” Tusk stated during a crisis management meeting in Lublin.

Kiev has also attributed responsibility for the incident to Russia. “During the night, amid a massive Russian attack on Ukraine, a Russian X-101 cruise missile entered Poland's territory and violated NATO's airspace,” wrote Andrzej Sybiga, Ukraine's Foreign Minister, on X.

Poland's Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamish stated that the massive Russian missile strike has posed a serious challenge to the country's air defense systems. “It was an extremely difficult night for our air defense, observation, and threat detection systems. Information has been continuously transferred and coordinated by responsible services, as well as provided to the country's senior officials. It is currently being clarified what object has fallen near the town of Tarnawa-Kolonia,” the minister noted on X.
