Hrachya Rostomyans Resigns from Armenian Basketball Federation Presidency

The president of the Armenian Basketball Federation, Hrachya Rostomyans, has resigned from his position. Rostomyans announced this through a post on Facebook.

“Dear friends, after 20 years of leading the Armenian Basketball Federation, today I bid farewell to this responsible position. In 2006, when I took over the leadership of the federation, Armenian basketball was in an extremely difficult situation. There were no national teams, regular championships were not held, and systemic development programs were absent. We essentially started everything from scratch. Over the years, through teamwork, dedication, and perseverance, we managed to revive this beautiful sport in Armenia.

Today, I leave with the conviction that I am leaving behind a solid and developing federation with competitive national teams, numerous age championships, international cooperation, and, most importantly, a team dedicated to its work and possessing high professional qualifications.

This journey would not have been possible without all those who have been by our side over the years. I would like to thank the athletes, coaches, referees, clubs, executive committee members, partners, sponsors, and all those who have contributed to the development of Armenian basketball. I sincerely wish success to the new president of the Armenian Basketball Federation, the executive committee, and the entire team. I am confident that you will be able to not only maintain our achievements but also take Armenian basketball to a new and higher level.

Thank you all for accompanying me on this long journey. I wish for Armenian basketball to continue to develop, win, and represent Armenia with dignity on the international stage,” Rostomyans said in his message.
