Azerbaijan Demands Clarifications from Russia Over Use of 'Nagorno-Karabakh' Term
Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has demanded clarifications from Russia. It was noted that during a broadcast on the Russian state channel 'First Channel', the term 'Nagorno-Karabakh', which does not exist anymore, was used. The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has labeled this a 'serious provocation'.
They stated, 'Azerbaijan's sovereignty and territorial integrity have been fully restored, and this fact has been recognized by the international community, including the Russian Federation. The broadcast by the Russian state television clearly contradicts the spirit of Azerbaijani-Russian relations, as well as the principles of mutual respect and fraternity.'
It is expected that the Russian side will provide clear explanations regarding this matter and take necessary measures to prevent a recurrence of such incidents.
