The Government Will Support Grape Processing Enterprises
In 2025, companies that process at least 10,000 tons of grapes will be eligible to receive loans under preferential conditions. The maximum loan amount for each company is set at 1 billion drams, with a maximum interest rate of 14 percent, of which 10 percent is subsidized by the government.
The project's justification notes that the export of Armenian bottled brandy has decreased by about 23 percent compared to the previous year in 2025. The main reason for this decline is the new customs requirements in Georgia. Since April 17, Armenian trucks exporting brandy have been stopped for sample collection.
Trucks remain at customs terminals for 10 to 49 days, resulting in additional costs for businesses. The program aims to address the issues arising from these aforementioned restrictions.
