The government has approved a draft decree on "The establishment of a financing agreement for the multi-sector budget support between the Republic of Armenia and the European Commission."
According to the agreement, EU support totaling 143 million euros is planned to be directed towards Armenia’s development from 2026 to 2028. The financial package includes two components: 90 million euros in direct budget support and 53 million euros for technical assistance aimed at strengthening institutional capacities. The funds will only be provided in the form of grants, with the main areas of support being public finance management, export diversification, dialogue on visa liberalization, rule of law, as well as employment and social inclusion sectors.
The allocation of funding in each year will be directly linked to the qualitative and timely implementation of the identified 34 target actions.
