The excavation of the second tunnel, measuring 530 meters (including portals), has been completed on the north-south Kajaran-Agarak road section, which is being constructed over a length of 32 km. Currently, work is ongoing to ensure the tunnel meets the required geometric specifications and other project-related tasks. This was reported by the Road Department.
It is worth mentioning that the excavation of the first tunnel, which is 455 meters long (including portals), was completed last year. The contractor is currently pouring concrete for the lining.
Additionally, construction work on bridges and soil embankments continues on the Kajaran-Agarak road section. The 32 km segment is being funded by the Government of Armenia and the Eurasian Development and Stabilization Fund.
