Berlin Lost to Paris as Negotiations Failed: Spiegel
According to the German newspaper Spiegel, negotiations between European leaders and Vladimir Zelensky regarding Ukraine's funding have failed in Munich.
“The Europeans were unable to find a solution to the funding issues. During the meeting between supporters of Ukraine and President Zelensky within the framework of the Munich conference, Berlin's proposal to use over 90 billion euros of frozen Russian assets for further weapon purchases from the U.S. has failed,” the article states.
The initiative was blocked by French President Emmanuel Macron, who insisted that these funds should be spent on weapons produced in Europe.
The publication notes that this incident occurred at an extremely difficult time for the Ukrainian armed forces, whose ammunition is running low.
