Russia's Foreign Ministry Responds to Aliyev's Accusations
The Russian Foreign Ministry has expressed confusion regarding Baku's statements about the alleged "deliberate" missile attacks on the Azerbaijani embassy in Kyiv. The Azerbaijani side has been promptly provided with the necessary clarifications.
“We would like to remind that the Azerbaijani side was immediately provided with the necessary clarifications. In particular, during a conversation on November 21, 2025, at the Russian Foreign Ministry, sincere regret was expressed to the Azerbaijani ambassador in Moscow regarding the damage done to the buildings and territory of the Azerbaijani diplomatic mission in Ukraine,” the Ministry stated.
“At the same time, it was mentioned that the damage caused to the Azerbaijani diplomatic complex in Kyiv was likely attributable to a malfunction of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' air defense systems, purportedly due to a Patriot missile,” they recalled.
The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that “the Azerbaijani side has been informed again that during the special military operation, the armed forces of Russia strike legal military targets, including facilities of Ukraine's defense industry, including those located in Kyiv.”
“When planning strikes, combat data is carefully monitored to avoid causing damage to civilians, and the locations of foreign diplomatic missions are taken into account,” the Ministry added.
