Rockfalls on Yerevan-Meghri Highway Damage Vehicles
On February 11, the emergency management center of the Vayots Dzor regional rescue department received reports regarding rockfalls on the Yerevan-Meghri highway. An operational group from the Ministry of Emergency Situations' regional rescue department was dispatched to the scene.
It was determined that the rockfalls occurred at kilometers 122 and 112 of the Yerevan-Meghri highway, resulting in one-way traffic. Vehicles of the brands 'VAZ' and 'Toyota' were damaged; however, there were no casualties.
Rescuers cordoned off the area and, with the help of special equipment, removed the fallen rocks from the highway, allowing traffic to be restored.
