What Pashinyan and Aliyev Discussed
On February 4, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, met with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. This information is reported on the Government's official website.
The parties welcomed the progress made in implementing the agreements reached at the Peace Summit hosted by US President Donald J. Trump in Washington. They emphasized the importance of maintaining and promoting the positive dynamics of the normalization process between Armenia and Azerbaijan through bilateral formats.
Both sides acknowledged that their societies are witnessing the tangible benefits of peace in daily life. They expressed satisfaction with the launch of bilateral trade and the continued export of petroleum products from Azerbaijan to Armenia, as well as the transit of grain and other goods from third countries through Azerbaijani territory to Armenia.
The parties agreed to continue exploring opportunities for expanding bilateral trade and economic cooperation. They also welcomed the reciprocal visits of civil society representatives and agreed on the need to expand measures for building trust.
Prime Minister Pashinyan and President Aliyev discussed the implementation of TRIPP and other infrastructure projects. The Prime Minister of Armenia and the President of Azerbaijan reaffirmed their readiness to continue working towards further strengthening peace and stability between their countries and agreed to maintain communications to support the process of normalizing bilateral relations.
