According to Reuters, Pope Francis has been invited to participate in the 'Council for Peace' initiated by Donald Trump. There has been no response from the leader of the Catholic Church to date.
The 'Council for Peace' is an international organization established at the initiative of U.S. President Donald Trump. The project officially started on January 15, 2026, and Trump has publicly announced it.
According to Trump, the primary goal of the 'Council for Peace' is to 'support stability, restore the rule of law, and ensure long-lasting peace in conflict zones,' with particular attention given to the Gaza Strip, which has been affected by the war from 2023 to 2025.
