Lukashenko Explains Why Belarus Joined the Peace Council
President Alexander Lukashenko has explained the main motive behind Belarus's decision to join the Peace Council proposed by US President Donald Trump.
“I am excited about the possibility that this Peace Council, its actions, and capabilities can be expanded to other parts of the world,” said Lukashenko.
He noted that the potential role of the Peace Council in resolving the conflict in Ukraine is of fundamental importance to him. “First of all, perhaps we can help with something related to Ukraine, somehow discuss it, promote peace, and be able to approach and influence the Ukrainian leadership. That is what attracts me the most. The issue is not that we are helping too much with Gas. I know my and our Belarus's capabilities,” Lukashenko stated.
