Traffic Accident in Gegharkunik: Criminal Proceedings Initiated
A tragic traffic accident occurred in the Gegharkunik region today.
At around 10:10 AM, on the 22 km section of the Sevan-Martuni-Agetap highway, due to black ice on the road, a collision took place between a "Toyota" car driven by 28-year-old Sevak I. and a "Nissan" driven by 35-year-old Vahan S.
According to Shamshyan.com, as a result of the accident, a passenger in the "Toyota" died at the scene, while the driver was transferred to the "Gavar" medical center.
A criminal case has been initiated in the investigative department regarding the incident, where the identity of the deceased is being clarified.
By the investigator's order, the cars have been moved to a special secured area of the Gavar police department.
The deceased was the mother of the "Toyota" driver.
Auroranews was informed by the investigative committee that a criminal case has been initiated under the second part of Article 342 of the Criminal Code (violating the safety requirements for road traffic or the rules ensuring the safety of road traffic or the operation of vehicles, causing death through negligence).
Expert examinations have been appointed. An investigation is underway.
