Kurdish Armed Forces Attempted to Penetrate Iran from Iraqi Territory
According to the Reuters agency, citing sources, armed Kurdish militias have attempted to penetrate Iran from Iraq.
Three sources, including a senior Iranian official, told the agency on condition of anonymity that Turkey had warned Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in recent days about the attempts of Kurdish militants to cross the border through its intelligence services.
The Iranian official stated that IRGC forces clashed with Kurdish militants who, according to him, were trying to destabilize the situation and take advantage of the protests taking place in the Islamic Republic.
At the time of publication, Turkey's intelligence agency, MIT, and the presidential administration had not commented.
