Iran's Foreign Ministry Representative Condemns Terrorist Attack in Australia
Iran’s Foreign Ministry representative Ismail Baghaei has condemned the terrorist attack that occurred in Australia today. “We condemn the brutal attack in Sydney. Terrorism and the killing of innocent people, regardless of where they occur, are rejected and condemned,” Baghaei wrote on his X page.
It is noted that 12 people were killed in a shooting by two armed individuals at Bondi Beach in Sydney. About 30 others were injured, including children among the casualties and the wounded.
According to media reports, the attack happened while around 100 people were gathered at the beach to celebrate the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah.
Earlier, it was reported that the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom was urged to delete a post about the Jewish holiday following the gunfire.
