Fico Declares Opposition to Support for Ongoing Conflict in Ukraine
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has announced that he does not wish to support initiatives that would deepen the conflict in Ukraine at next week's European Union summit.
"I am preparing and actively engaging with several prime ministers regarding the summit scheduled in Brussels next week, where I do not want to support the continuation of the war in Ukraine," Fico stated in a video message posted on his official Facebook page today.
The European Commission had previously announced that a decision on Ukraine's funding for the 2026-2027 period will be made at the EU summit scheduled for December 18-19.
