Dangerous Toys Found in ‘Siti’ LLC Supermarkets
The State Inspectorate for Market Surveillance of Armenia has conducted regulatory measures in the supermarkets owned by ‘Siti’ LLC. The inspection revealed that a significant number of products imported and acquired from the local market, as well as tobacco products and their substitutes, were sold without the necessary compliance assessment documents and labeling.
Some electronic scales used were operating without verification. A sampling of toys was carried out, which revealed that the ‘Slimer’ type toys named ‘Bear Cub’, ‘Monster’, and ‘Unicorn’ contain substances hazardous to children's health.
Armen Kotolyan, the head of the inspectorate, issued relevant directives regarding the suspension of product sales, recall from the market, and destruction of the toys. The inspectorate urges all consumers who have purchased these toys to contact the inspectorate and return them to avoid potential harm to children’s health.
